The Coldest Bus Stop in Chicago - 2004

In April, I opened a file called The Coldest Bus Stop In All of Chicago which showed the intersection of Clark Street and Roosevelt Road above from far, far above.

When I stood there years ago, waiting as a teenager, there was nothing to block the wind roaring off the lake. Now, there is at least some shelter there, though when the Target store opens its doors and whether it is true sanctuary for bus riders can't be seen from the photo or our quick drive by.

All the nice bridgework is new too. I do not remember anything to sit on back in the 70's. But memory can be cruel as well as kind.
