Discover Magazine: "The Whole-House Machine
This is why people think robotics are the future"

The April Issue of Discover Magazine has a fascinating glimpse at the future of home construction. Imagine ordering a custom built house, to your colors and specifications, built with concrete but not limited to straight lines, and built by a robot using a multi-trowel technolgy to build your house in less than one week.

Impossible? It may be here a lot sooner than you think. And with much of the cost of home construction in labor it may provide an alternative way to house the world's homeless or poorly sheltered at much less cost.

Robot technology may also be a way to open up a whole new area of home design. The robot conceived so far won't do windows however, or doors, but many of the wiring, plumbing and other infrastructure features can be taken care of dramatically lowering the price of home construction and adding to the options homeowners may be able to add to their homes.

Moat anyone?
