During a panel at NCTA today, Google co-founder Larry Page announced his company's latest experimental service: video on demand. Users will be able to upload videos, which Google will catalog, host, rank and distribute. Page said that video more difficult to deal with (bandwidth demands, hosting costs, etc.) than audio (podcasts), but that Google might consider a similar experiment service for audio content."
